Taylor Finishes 5th to Lead Texas HSNCT Contingent

William Golden lead Katy Taylor to a tied-for-fifth-place finish at NAQT’s High School National Championship Tournament last weekend in Atlanta.

Taylor was eliminated by eventual repeat national champion Hunter (NY). Finishing two rounds behind Taylor, tied for 15th, were St. John’s, St. Mark’s A, and LASA B.

LASA A and Strake Jesuit wound up tied for 25th. Between LASA B’s ninth- and 10th-grade squad and Strake’s sophomore-freshman team, the future seems bright for those two programs.

The group tied at 65th included Cistercian A, whose top four scorers return next year. Also at 65th were Cinco Ranch, St. Stephen’s, Seven Lakes A and Carnegie Vanguard. Reagan‘s all-underclassman team tied for 97th, rounding out the 12-strong Texas playoff group.
