Quail Valley and TH Rogers A finished tied for 21st at 7-5 to lead the 33 Texas teams at the 2017 Middle School National Championship Tournament this weekend at DFW.
Nine Texas teams went 5-3 on Saturday to reach the playoffs. Cistercian A, Kinkaid and St. John’s A finished tied for 33rd, while Coppell West, Fulmore A, Holy Family and St. Monica tied for 49th.
Jathin Desan of Frisco Nelson (4-4) finished as the 7th highest individual scorer on Saturday with 89.94 points per game. Seventh-grader Sidharth Nair of Beckendorff A was 20th with 69.7 PPG.
Johnny Miri of Holy Family earned individual honors for a second straight year, scoring 60 PPG to finish seventh among all seventh-graders. Alex Mitchell of St. Clare of Assisi was 10th among seventh-graders with 54.7.
