Brandeis, Fulmore ride to titles at Brahma Bowl

Brandeis Orange rebounded from a disappointing season-opening tournament, surging through the playoffs to the Brahma Bowl high school division title. Brandeis defeated John Jay in the final, 300-185, while Fulmore A erased a 105-point deficit in the final four tossups to edge Holy Family Blue, 280-265, in the middle school championship match.


St. Dominic Savio and Clark were the other nationals qualifiers from the high school division, while Fulmore B and St. Theresa Red were the semifinalists in the MS field.

The leading scorer in each division propeled his team to the final: John Jay’s Aeddon Chipman (90.5 PPG) and Holy Family’s Johnny Miri (87.22 PPG).

img_5902Fulmore A was led by Nic Currie and Maverick Trumpler with 52.14 and 50 PPG respectively.

Next Saturday, TQBA will be at Lovejoy in North Texas for the Leopards’ Lair high school event.
